Audio Help!

The Sonic Memorial Project features allow you to "stream" MP3 files, or listen to the file without copying it onto your computer. If you can't hear any sound you should go though the following check list.

Do you have a soundcard and speakers installed? (If you have a PC, you can check if you have a soundcard by going to My Computer/Control Panel/Sounds and Mulitmedia/Audio. Macs come with a soundcard)

Is your volume turned up?

Listening to MP3s is easy. If your streaming audio is not working, the fastest way to solve this is to download a new mp3 player, a software application that lets you hear sound on your computer and install it. On the Mac, iTunes works well. On the PC, WinAmp is recommended. Look for your operating system below and choose a player to get started!

(Modem users will most likely encounter delays as the audio loads and plays)

Windows Macintosh

After installing the player, launch it on its own. As part of the process of running it for the first time, the software will ask you if you want to use it as the default application for listening to internet audio. Saying yes to this option will usually cause all the right settings to be made.
